Voice process vs non-voice process
Voice process
You speak with customers on the phone: inbound support, outbound sales or collections. Voice roles often pay more and value fluent spoken language.
Non-voice process
Chat, email, data processing and back-office work. Suits people with good typing speed and written skills.
Domestic process
Serves Indian customers, usually in Hindi, English or a regional language, mostly in day or general shifts.
International process
Serves customers abroad, needs strong English, and often runs in night shifts with transport provided.
Telecaller jobs
Telecallers make outbound calls to share offers, follow up on leads, book appointments or remind customers about payments. Employers range from banks, insurers and education companies to real estate and local businesses. Many telecaller jobs pay a fixed salary plus incentives on targets, so ask how targets work during the interview.
Call center jobs by city
- Kolkata: large domestic and international BPOs around Salt Lake Sector V. See also customer support jobs.
- Delhi NCR: Noida and Gurugram have some of the biggest BPO campuses. See jobs in Delhi.
- Chennai: BPOs along OMR hiring English and Tamil speakers. See jobs in Chennai for freshers.
- Jaipur, Vizag and Ranchi: growing domestic BPO and telecaller hiring, especially for Hindi and Telugu processes.
Work from home call center jobs
Some companies hire telecallers and support agents to work from home. Genuine employers interview and train you and may need you to have a laptop, headset and stable internet. Be careful with offers that ask for money for “registration”, “ID creation” or training: these are scams.
How to clear a BPO interview
- Expect an HR round, a voice and accent or typing test, and an operations round.
- Speak slowly and clearly, and practise a short self-introduction.
- Be honest about your shift availability, including nights for international process.
